my first fully finished layout in months!

For some reason, I have a really hard time finishing layouts! Since my last post, I have done about 14 LOs not including this one.. BUT.. none of the others are fully finished! I struggle with journaling and expressing my feelings in words, so most of my LOs are finished except for the journaling.. and I HATE that!

There are two scrapbookers in particular, whose blogs I follow, who write amazingly.. The Lonely Scrapbooker & Jennifer Larson. Their blogs are so well written and I always love to read the journaling on their LOs! Boy am I jealous of their writing skills/expressing their feelings!! I'm gonna try hard to finish my incomplete LOs, and will hopefully be posting them randomly here and there when I finish! But no promises!

Without further ado..

For this LO, I used my April 2010 Studio Calico Kit - Joyland. Which I think is one of my favorite kits so far! Visually, it didn't appeal to me but once I started playing, I fell in LOVE (especially with the colors!). I also used this Sunday Sketch from the Studio Calico Blog for my LO.

Maybe I'll even be BOLD and go post this in my Studio Calico gallery.. which is completely EMPTY!

TFL!

I've been neglecting my blog...

I can't believe it's been almost 7 months since I last posted on here! I was just getting started and then LIFE happened. Here's a recap of things while I've been away..

So 3 days after my last post my mother fell down some stairs on her deck and fractured an ankle and broke the other.. She had to have surgery (11 screws & 1 plate) and stay at the hospital for 3 days.

The same week my mother fell, my brother, Matt, graduated from Purdue University with a major in Computer Engineering and a minor in Electrical (or something like that). So we had to take the 3 hour drive up to West Lafayette, with mom in tow.. which wasn't good for her leg because she was supposed to keep it elevated.

Me, Grandma, Dad, Mom, Matt, Brian

On August 29th, my wonderful husband turned 31 years old.

In September, I attended CKC-Nashville & took mom with me.. it was my first time going to Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center and it was an amazing place, but an utter nightmare trying to get around there with someone in a wheel chair!! UGH! I also got to meet April Foster, owner of Studio Calico, while taking her Masking and Misting coarse at CKC! She's such a sweetheart!

When I returned home from CKC, Jason had ripped out the carpet in Gracie's old room and laid down wood laminate and painted the walls. It was the beginning of making that room my SCRAPROOM/office, as my 5 year wedding anniversary gift. EEKK!! So excited! Although 6 months later and the room is still not finished!

Emma starts her first season of soccer.. She made two goals!

October 14.. Emma turns 6!

Halloween.. Aren't these pegasus/unicorns cute?!?!

Then comes Thanksgiving.. And BLACK friday! Never went to bed that night and was waiting outside Kohl's at 3:15am. I mainly go to Kohl's for the Carter's pajamas. I

Finally Christmas arrives!

Christmas Eve

My Christmas gift from DH!

January marks my first ever Studio Calico kit!! The January kit WHODUNIT was absolutely amazing!

I signed up for a 'learn to sew' class at The Smocking Shop, a local quilt shop, where DH bought my sewing machine.. So far, I have made a travel size pillow case and an apron. I'm definitely not a pro at sewing yet!

For Valentine's, DH and I went and got new (very over due) cell phones.. I think I'm in LOVE.. This phone is soo much fun!

And that's what has been happening while I've been away! I do have a LO finished that I'll post later this week.

my first post..

Well, this is my first post on my first ever blog. I guess I'll share a little bit about myself to whomever may stumble across here. I'm Danielle and I'm 25 years old. I have an amazing husband, Jason, and two beautiful daughters, Emma and Gracie, they are my world! I've decided to start a blog as a sort of scrapbook. I LOVE SCRAPBOOKING! but it seems as of late I do less and less of it.. I just merely shop for it, and browse about looking at layouts and projects on twopeasinabucket.com. So this is my scrapbook until I can get my designs out on paper, which I will then post on here. I aspire to someday be a more fluid scrapbooker and get published at least once. For now, I'll be blogging about my life.
